I have mine in RAID mode, but no RAID volume actually running. With the Intel chipset, RAID also covers AHCI.

Thought I would add my experiences here to see if it might help the developers track down the problem...

I have two Plextor drives, the B320SA and the 880SA. Previously, I was running Vista x64 using AHCI and Plexutilities had no problem recognizing the two drives. This system had a Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 motherboard.

I upgraded my system with a new ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard and installed Windows 7 x64, again using AHCI. After installing Plexutilitie, it does not find any Plextor drives on the system.

I don't believe AHCI is the problem. Since others are having this problem with Vista x64, it is probably not the operating systems, The difference between the motherboards is the southbridge each uses. The Gigabyte board uses the ICH9R and the ASUS the ICH10R.

I don't know if this is the problem, but it would be interesting to know what other users with this problem are using.

I just bought a B320SA and PlexUtilities does not recognize the drive. The splash screen pops up telling me I don't have a Plextor drive. This occurred using the included version on the disc and also using version 1.2.3 found on the website.

I am using Windows Vista x64 Ultimate with an EVGA Classified (759 version) motherboard. I am using AHCI.

I posted to another thread about this exact issue and so far nobody from Plextor has responded.

It seems to be a recurring problem as can be evidenced by the people posting regarding different drives not being recognized.

While this is not a show stopper for me, it's an annoyance as some of the utilities would be useful. I am able to burn discs using ImgBurn, and I can play movies using PowerDVD so the drive is working fine. No exclamation points in Device Manager either. So far it appears that just PlexUtilities is having an issue...which I find surprising since they wrote the software and manufacture the drive.

Go figure...

I went from SATA-RAID (Plextools not working) to AHCI (plextools working). Oh, and I reinstalled Vista in between - that's not exactly insignificant either, so impossible for me to confirm which change of the 2 fixed it.

Since I'm already using AHCI, it's likely not that. I find it odd that so many different configurations seem to cause the problem. I hope that Plextor is looking into it and not just taking the stance that "it works here." since many people are experiencing the problem.

Did you try changing it to another setting? Mine has Disabled (equivalent to PATA), AHCI and RAID. If you aren't using NCQ on anything connected to that controller, try disabling AHCI too and report back.
