I would suggest to try using the drive on different SATA ports if you haven't done so already. Also,according to the motherboard manual, there is an option to setup a RAID on your system. You may want to make sure the RAID is not trying to include the DVD drive in the RAID as that wouldn't work right. Also check the BIOS to see if the drive is even detected at all. Also,check the boot sequence, try to disable the computer from looking to the DVD drive as a boot device, try putting the Hard drive as the first boot device.
